Boston Children’s Theatre Studios Discovery, One, Two, Three, and Four are a series of programs offered in the Fall, Winter, and Spring for different age groups and skill levels. These seasonal classes are meant to complement our esteemed Summer Studios program and are tailored to teach and improve the acting, singing, and dancing skills of your theatre-loving child. Classes are offered in Boston and Beverly with need-based Financial Aid available.

Class Fees

8-week classes of Studios Discovery, One, Two, and Three are $295/session

8-week classes of Studio Four are $345/session (excluding Intro to Ballet which is $295)

BCT Theatre Programs for Ages 4 – 14

STUDIO DISCOVERY (ages 4–6)

Studio Discovery is a fun, active introduction to creative drama for your child, which includes drama games, activities, songs, and crafts. Classes are taught by a theatre-education specialist and at the end of the session, there will be a Family & Friends Sharing presentation.

STUDIO ONE (ages 6–8)

Studio One provides your child the chance to further explore creative drama in a supportive environment by playing theatre games, working on crafts, role playing, improvising skits, and developing our favorite stories into scenes. Classes are taught by a theatre-education specialist and at the end of the session, there will be a Family & Friends Sharing presentation.

STUDIO TWO (ages 8–12)

Studio Two gives our young students a chance to improve their acting, singing, dancing and theatre skills under the guidance of a BCT professional theatre educator. These fun and interactive classes are great for beginners as well as children who have been in productions before. At the end of the session, there will be a Family & Friends Sharing presentation.

BOSTON

  • Exploration of Musical Theatre : (SATURDAYS, 8 weeks) April 7 – June 2, 10:00am – 12:00pm

Exploration of Musical Theatre is designed for the beginner student who is interested in learning about musical theatre. Introductory skills will be taught and developed in singing as part of an ensemble, understanding basic movement, and character development using the Broadway canon.

  • Acting Fundamentals : (SATURDAYS, 8 weeks) April 7 – June 2, 12:30pm – 2:30pm

Acting Fundamentals is designed for the beginner student who is interested in learning about acting. Introductory skills will be taught and developed in acting, character development, as well as various theatre exercises and improvisation.

STUDIO THREE (ages 9–14)

Studio Three provides a safe, positive, and fun 
environment in which talented young performers can develop and hone their skills in acting and musical theatre. Classes are led by experienced theatre educators and at the end of the session, there will be a Family & Friends Sharing presentation.

BOSTON

  • Intermediate Acting : (SUNDAYS, 8 weeks) April 8 – June 3, 10:00am – 12:00pm

Intermediate Acting is designed for the intermediate student to continue honing their skills in acting.  Material will increase in difficulty and build upon introductory skills.  The addition of monologues and scenes will be integrated.

  • Intermediate Musical Theatre : (SUNDAYS, 8 weeks) April 8 – June 3, 12:30pm – 2:30pm

Intermediate Musical Theatre is designed for the intermediate student to continue honing their skills in musical theatre. Material will increase in difficulty and build upon introductory skills.

BEVERLY

Intermediate Musical Theatre is designed for the intermediate student to continue honing their skills in musical theatre. Material will increase in difficulty and build upon introductory skills.

New England TheatreWorks Pre-Professional Training for Ages 14 – 19

STUDIO FOUR (ages 14–19)

Studio Four is an intensive, pre-professional training program for students interested in pursuing an acting and/or musical theatre career.

BOSTON

  • Advanced Acting : (SATURDAYS, 8 weeks) April 7 – June 2, 10:00am – 12:00pm

Advanced Acting is offered by popular demand and is open to students interested in the craft of acting ‘from the inside out.’ This class will explore in detail the inner monologue, technique, and emotional truth.  There is a special emphasis on discovering and focusing each individual’s dramatic voice and talents. Perfect for the emerging actor!

  • Advanced Musical Theatre : (SATURDAYS, 8 weeks) April 7 – June 2, 12:30pm – 2:30pm

Advanced Musical Theatre is designed for the advanced student to continue honing their skills in musical theatre. Material will increase in difficulty and build upon intermediate skills.
