Everyone’s favorite holiday television special is now live on stage in Boston Children’s Theatre’s (BCT) special production of A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS. Directed by Burgess Clark, BCT Executive Artistic Director, A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS runs November 26 – December 18 at The Larcom Theatre, 13 Wallis Street, Beverly, MA; and December 21 – 23 at The Roberts Theatre, Calderwood Pavilion, 527 Tremont Street, Boston, MA.

It’s never too early to begin preparing for the college audition and application process. Now is the time to take the mystery out of the performing arts college audition and learn what it takes to be accepted into your number one choice. Boston Children’s Theatre (BCT) is holding a unique College Prep Master Class for students and parents for one night only on Thursday, October 20 from 6 – 9 pm at The Benjamin Franklin Institute in Boston.
Taught by BCT’s Executive Artistic Director Burgess Clark, BCT Executive Producer Toby Schine and BCT Vocal Coach Daniel Blake, this class is a must for any student who is interested in applying to a performing arts school.

Boston Children’s Theatre (BCT) has announced that four Boston Public Elementary schools have been chosen to participate in the Boston Children’s Theatre (BCT) has announced that four Boston Public Elementary schools have been chosen to participate in the Disney Musicals in Schools program this fall. Funded by a $100,000 grant from Disney to Boston Children’s Theatre, the two-year program is an outreach initiative developed by Disney Theatrical Group to support and build sustainable theater programs in elementary schools.
Schools participating in the first year of the program are:
McKay K – 8 School in East Boston
Curley K – 8 School in Jamaica Plain
James F. Condon K – 8 School in South Boston
Martin Luther King K – 8 School in Dorchester

Based on the wildly popular books by Jane O’Connor, FANCY NANCY THE MUSICAL features Nancy and her friends as they perform in their very first stage show. Nancy is absolutely positive (that’s fancy for 100% sure) that she and her best friend Bree will be cast as mermaids. What happens when Nancy is given the part of a dull, brown tree? How will Nancy bring her fancy flair to the role? With life lessons to learn in a fun, creative way, FANCY NANCY THE MUSICAL promises to be a smashing success (that’s fancy for a big hit)!

Help support BCT on Sunday, June 12 at Barnes & Noble in the Prudential Center! BCT is proud to play a role in the inaugural Teen Book Festival and Book Fair. BCT students will be performing a live scene from the new YA book IDENTITY CRISIS by local author Melissa Schorr (you may recognize her name as the editor of the popular Dinner with Cupid column in Boston Sunday Globe Magazine!). The live performance is at 1 pm, but BCT students and staff will also be running theater games and craft activities for Barnes & Noble shoppers from 12 noon – 4 pm. And, Barnes & Noble will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales that day to BCT to help support our theater! You just need to show this VOUCHER at the register. BCT Wins 2 Elliot Norton Awards for THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK- Outstanding Production and Outstanding Actress
Congratulations to Zehava Younger who was named Outstanding Actress at the 2016 Elliot Norton Awards for her role as ‘Anne Frank’ in BCT’s production of THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK. “Anne’s story is so important,” said Zehava in her acceptance speech at the Shubert Theatre, “and to be recognized for telling her story is truly incredible.” THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK was also named Outstanding Production by the Boston Theater Critics Association, the voting members of the Elliot Norton Awards. A Standing Ovation for the cast, crew, creative team and all those associated with this incredibly moving production!
Zehava Younger wins Independent Reviewers of New England Award for Most Promising Young Performer for her role as ‘Anne Frank’
Congratulations to Zehava Younger who was named Most Promising Young Performer by the Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) at the 20th anniversary IRNE Awards on April 11. Zehava played ‘Anne Frank’ in BCT’s critically acclaimed 2015 production of “The Diary of Anne Frank”. Wonderful recognition for a wonderful actress who, upon receiving the award said, “This is a story that needs to be told.” Thank you Zehava for helping to tell this incredibly important and inspirational story.
