It is my great pleasure to welcome parents and students to our fourth smash year of the Boston Children’s Theatre Summer Studios! Whether your child is a beginner looking for a gentle introduction or an experienced performer, BCT offers something for all ages and levels. The classes and training available at BCT are a fun, creative and excellent way to discover any child’s potential.
This summer we are pleased to offer 3 convenient locations for our Summer Studios. Our STUDIO DISCOVERY, STUDIO YOUTH ONE and TWO programs, STUDIO KIDS ROCK and BROADWAY SPECTACULAR for ages 4-12 will be held at the Boston Children’s Theatre Studios on Huntington Avenue in Boston as well as at our North Shore location, Endicott College in Beverly, MA. I must also express my gratitude to the Governor’s Academy in Byfield, MA for hosting our STUDIO THREE Intermediate and STUDIO FOUR Advanced programs at their state-of-the- art facility. To make it even easier, BCT will provide an optional shuttle at cost to and from our Boston offices to Governor’s Academy.
At BCT, we have many reasons to celebrate. In addition to commemorating BCT’s 60th anniversary this season, we are also thrilled to recognize our BCT students who are on their way to becoming the future of musical theater. BCT Summer Studios has become the premier training opportunity for young people in the greater Boston area. During the past 3 seasons, our BCT graduates have been universally accepted into the colleges of their choice, including NYU Tisch, Emerson, Syracuse, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. We congratulate them all!
Through an on-going partnership with the Patton Foundation, we are thrilled to welcome our international students from Germany. These students are joining us to learn about the art of American Musical Theatre- one of the fastest growing art forms in Germany today. The cultural exchange between American students and German students brought together by their common passion for theatre provides a unique and exciting theatrical and social experience for our students and we look forward to welcoming them!
So bring the suntan lotion and sunglasses; Boston’s own will be burning brighter than ever beneath BCT’s summer spotlight!
