CenterStage Discovery and CenterStage Youth will be taught by BCT actress Katie Clarke (The Velveteen Rabbit.) Katie Clarke is a recent graduate of Endicott College where she earned her BA in English with a concentration in Theatre. In addition to her instructor role, she also works as the Assistant to the Executive Director of BCT.  Katie also teaches music and creative movement classes for KidPowerment in the Greater Boston area. Before moving to the area, Katie taught classes at Children’s Theatre Workshop in Oak Bluffs, MA for 6 years. On stage credits include “Annie” in Annie Get Your Gun, “Nana” in The Velveteen Rabbit, “Susan” in [title of show], “Catherine” in Pippin!, “Hermia” in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, “Helen Keller” in The Miracle Worker” and “Little Red”  in Into the Woods.

Mikayla is thrilled to be returning to BCT, this time as a teaching artist. Just as her mentors here inspired her years ago, Mikayla hopes to come full circle and inspire students to discover the magic of theatre and reap its great gifts: creativity, confidence, collaboration, compassion, and much more. Mikayla is a graduate of Emerson College where she received a degree in Theatre Education with a Concentration in Acting. When she’s not teaching, Mikayla galavants around Salem in Puritan garb, performing with the theatre company History Alive, Inc.
